We have mapped out the route for the Colorado Rocky Mountain Bike Tour 2010 providing a challenging, fun and safe trip through some of the most beautiful and highest sections of Colorado.  CRMBT, again, is the most challenging bike tour in Colorado!

This route is truly special.

Day One. August 1 A good start. Edwards to Frisco down Highway 24 over Tennessee Pass and Battle Mountain, turn north at Leadville over Fremont and on to Frisco. This is a 71 mile ride.

Day Two. August 2. Getting into it! From Frisco to Idaho Springs. Ride around beautiful Lake Dillon over Swan Mountain to Keystone then over Loveland Pass at 11,990 feet in altitude; cruise on into Idaho Springs. A high altitude day of 51 miles.

Day Three. August 3. Could be the ride of your life. Idaho Springs to Golden. Just about 75 miles if you select to do Mt. Evans. You start with a 14 mile climb to Echo Lake. There, if you're feeling good, Mount Evans at 14,150 feet in altitude awaits to make this the "Queen Stage" of the 2010 CRMBT. Carry on past Echo Lake over Squaw Pass and descend down to Lookout Mountain into Golden.

Day Four. August 4. Loads of fun, up and down and over as we go on from Golden into Estes Park. 75 miles of rollers over the Peak to Peak highway, starting with a steady climb up Golden Gate Canyon.  One of the most senic rides in Colorado ending at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Day Five. August 5. Take a break in Estes Park, a classic Colorado summer recreation spot. Hey, you deserve it! You'll find tons to do here. A really great spot for a break.

Day Six. August 6.  Ride on. 65 miles from Estes Park to Granby over Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park at 12,183 feet. Trail Ridge Road is only open a few months out of the year, so this will be a special day.

Day Seven. August 7. Heading home! Granby to Edwards. Finish off with a 102 mile Century ride. A little bit of climbing then a lot of downhill.  What a week! You did it!

Helpfull hint: Clicking on the link for each day will take you to MapMyRide. You'll find a lot of good stuff there like being able to create training logs. Another cool thing is to view the route using the Google Earth link. Zoom in and you'll get options to see street views all along the route.

This year’s CRMBT travels over 6 Colorado Scenic Byways: Top of the Rockies, Mount Evans, Lariat Loop, Peak to Peak, Trail Ridge Road, and Colorado River Headwaters.
